Power BI reports are used within your organisation via a browser, mobile app, Excel and, last but not least, via Teams.

It may sometimes be necessary to highlight certain findings or a specific connection and communicate these “offline”, to external partners for example.

In a Power BI report, you can simply copy certain visuals (either filtered or not) to integrate them into reports, presentations, email communications and/or chat messages.

In a Power BI report, you can simply copy certain visuals (either filtered or not) to integrate them into reports, presentations, email communications and/or chat messages.

However, when using a snipping tool, you are only copying the image of the chart.

By default, Power BI gives you the option to make a copy of a visual which includes the attributes that determine the image. Simply go to the visual and press ‘copy visual as image’, via the second icon in the upper right corner of the image.

This way, the time of the data refresh and the filter settings are included. You will also have a link to the visual in the online report. This allows you to continue to follow the evolution of the data online,

making it the most ideal way of providing visuals from your reports to external parties.
