Imagine you’ve just sent an e-mail to Person X with an important question. You know from experience that Person X sometimes forgets to respond, so you’d like to keep an eye on this. But because the e-mail is in your Sent Items box, it might get lost between all your other sent items.
Luckily, you can make things easier for yourself by adding a flag or follow-up to a sent message. In this blog post, I’ll explain how to do this.
Open a new e-mail and click the arrow next to ‘Follow Up’ in the ribbon. Next, select ‘Custom’. You’ll see a window where you can choose ‘Flag to’ and include a message. You can set a date and even add a reminder for yourself by checking ‘Reminder’.
The option underneath lets you add a flag for the recipient to your e-mail (‘Flag for Recipients’). I wouldn’t recommend using it, though – not all recipients appreciate it if you flag your message for them.
